- Strong technical grounding to earn engineers' trust; you don't need to code but can push back on design.
- Experience evaluating build/buy/integrate decisions with defendable calls.
- Systems-thinking orientation; connect platforms, workflows, and business needs.
- Clear, direct communication across technical levels; explain data tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
