Senior Product Counsel

📋 Description

• Provide day-to-day legal counsel across Checkr’s products with Product and Engineering.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, consumer protection laws (FCRA, GDPR, CCPA).
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success to respond to inquiries and explain compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments and enforcement trends; provide actionable guidance.
• Scale the Product & Privacy function with better processes and playbooks.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and U.S. bar admission.
• 7+ years in product counseling, privacy, and tech law.
• Proven ability to partner with product/engineering and guide non-lawyers.
• Experience with complex, highly regulated products.
• Calibrate risk based on business objectives and product stage.
• Deep knowledge of privacy laws, global frameworks, and AI/data governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; explain complex concepts clearly.
• Collaborative mindset, ownership, and desire to grow within a scaling team.
• A-player with bias for action; rise to challenges.
