Senior Product & Commercial Counsel

📋 Description

• Advise product/engineering on features for Houzz Pro incl subscriptions, CRM, marketing.
• Guide teams on consumer protection, advertising, disclosures, auto-renewal, AI, pricing.
• Identify regulatory risk early and translate into product/UX guidance.
• Partner on data use, consent flows, and regional compliance.
• Escalate complex, novel, high-risk issues to senior leadership as needed.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements; design scalable intake.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-7 years relevant experience, startup/in-house, tech preferred; JD and bar admission.
• Experience advising on product launches, incl subscriptions or fintech/payments.
• Familiarity with subscription/autorenewal laws, advertising regs, and privacy basics.
• Interest in AI-enabled products and emerging technology issues.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making judgments with incomplete information.
• Strong communication skills; ability to write and speak in plain English.
