- Research advanced polymer materials (composites, coatings, elastomers) for aerospace.
- Assess chemical stability, thermal decomposition, and outgassing.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments (SIFT-MS, TGA, FTIR, TGA-FTIR).
- Calibrate, validate, and optimize instrument performance; ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot equipment; liaise with vendors and stakeholders.
- Develop, refine, and validate EGA and real-time volatile detection methods.
🎯 Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
- 3+ years in polymer characterization and analytical method development.
- Hands-on with TGA, FTIR, GC-MS, HPLC-MS, and SIFT-MS or CIMS.
- Strong thermal analysis and gas-phase detection fundamentals.
- Masters or PhD in Polymer Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry preferred.
- Travel up to 10%; willingness to work evenings/weekends; lift up to 25 lbs.
