Senior Payroll Accountant

📋 Description

• Own the monthly close for payroll and related accounts, including entries and reconciliations.
• Partner with Payroll Operations to ensure accurate GL postings across multi-state entities.
• Design and operationalize SOX-compliant payroll controls; support audits with evidence.
• Collaborate with Tax, FP&A/Strategy, HR and HRIS to improve forecasts.
• Lead continuous improvement to shorten close timelines via templates and automation.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on payroll, and communicate program impacts to stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years payroll or GL accounting with payroll focus in a large company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge for payroll, benefits, bonuses, and stock-based compensation.
• Hands-on monthly close ownership for payroll accounts, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Experience with ERP/payroll/HRIS systems (Workday/Oracle/SAP/NetSuite/ADP) incl. GL integrations.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (lookups, pivot, index/match) and large data sets.
