Senior Payroll Accountant

📋 Description

As Senior Payroll Accountant, you'll own global payroll accounting and reporting. You'll work with the Assistant Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and proactive problem-solving.

• Prepare and review payroll journal entries and reconciliations for close.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations for wages payable and payroll liabilities.
• Partner with Payroll/People Ops to reflect payroll in NetSuite and flag discrepancies.
• Manage accounting for EOR arrangements and contractors.
• Support equity payroll accounting, incl. stock-based comp and RSU vesting.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on Workday experience is required.
• 4+ years of accounting, payroll exposure, startup or high-growth preferred.
• Strong payroll accounting fundamentals: accruals, journal entries, reconciliations.
• Knowledge of US payroll taxes, benefits, and compensation concepts; audit support.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
• Advanced Excel and large-dataset analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
