Senior Motor Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Design active parts of high-speed generators.
• Structural and thermal analysis for generators.
• Collaborate with Power Conversion and Electrical Systems teams.
• Own active-part design and perform analyses, simulations, and selection.
• Create 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings in CAD and NX.
• Source components and perform bench testing of high-voltage motors and generators.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical with power electronics.
• 5+ years designing high-voltage/high-power motors/generators.
• Fundamental knowledge of electric motors.
• Expert in permanent-magnet motors for +1kV, +1MW at speeds >40krpm.
• Knowledge of motor control systems including SVM and power electronics.
• Onsite at El Segundo HQ; ready for extended hours as needed.
