Senior Mission Operations Engineer

📋 Description

• Own large initiatives for spacecraft and ground ops procedures to enable safe operations.
• Provide technical and operational leadership for pre-flight testing and checkouts of ground systems.
• Lead ops of Vast's crewed and uncrewed missions for vehicle commissioning, on-orbit ops, anomaly resolution and deorbit.
• Analyze vehicle and ground telemetry; deliver summaries and recommendations.
• Formulate and lead workflows to improve Mission Operations processes and systems.
• Collaborate with Mission Systems Eng. and Ground Software teams to implement improvements.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, software, or related eng.
• 5+ years operating complex systems.
• Cross-functional collaboration across engineering disciplines.
• Ability to think clearly in high-stress, rapidly evolving environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Software: C++, Golang, JavaScript, React, Databases, Cloud; Matlab/Python.
