Senior Medical Director, UK

📋 Description

• Lead UK Medical Affairs activities for launch of late-stage cardiovascular compounds; implement the Country Plan of Action and execute pre-launch and launch activities.
• Educate cardiovascular HCPs on the clinical profile and place in therapy; discuss mechanism of action and development across Phases I-IV with key opinion leaders.
• Provide day-to-day medical guidance and cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, country leadership, and partners; manage projects including congress strategy, advisory boards, field training, and HEOR analyses.
• Represent the company at Medical Congresses and with patient groups; support publication strategy and abstracts, and contribute to cross-functional UK brand strategies.
• Liaise with Global/European Medical Affairs and R&D to maintain timely product expertise; provide input into medical education, grants, and sponsorship reviews; respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals.
• Participate as medical reviewer in committees and lead data generation/presentation activities; collaborate with R&D and HEOR to address data gaps and real-world evidence plans.

🎯 Requirements

• MD/MBBS with strong Medical Affairs experience; cardiovascular experience preferred; 7 years pharma industry experience.
• Medical Affairs experience in the UK with medicine approvals and peri-launch/launch activities.
• Background in academic medicine, clinical research, familiarity with study design, biostatistics and epidemiology.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; analytical and articulate with excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory authorization requirements and key local authorities in the regional pharmaceutical industry.
• Business fluent in English; knowledge of other European languages a plus; proficiency with Microsoft Office; willingness to travel ~35%.
