Senior Mechanical Engineer I

📋 Description

• Own major mechanical subsystems end to end, from sketch to production.
• Lead design and integration of mechanical/electromechanical assemblies.
• Run structural and thermal analysis (hand calcs, FEA) to retire risk.
• Plan and lead mechanical V&V per IEC 60601-1 requirements.
• Drive DFM and DFA; injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, laser, 3D printing.
• Qualify vendors; manage production transfer.
• Collaborate with EE on enclosures and battery envelopes.
• Coach juniors; raise documentation standards; use AI tools.

🎯 Requirements

• 6-10 years in mechanical product design and development with marketed products.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Expert in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and 2D drawings per ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing: injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, laser, 3D printing.
• Hands-on fabrication and lab experience; built, machined, tested your designs.
• Ability to perform hand calculations and FEA; structural and thermal analysis.
• Experience with electromechanical products (PCBAs, batteries) and working with EEs.
• Experience in regulated industries and applying standards (medical/ISO/IEC).
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience guiding junior engineers.
