Senior Mechanical Engineer (Continuous Improvement)

📋 Description

• Own mechanical subsystems for WHOOP hardware, from concept to mass production
• Lead mechanical design to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost
• Manage engineering changes with vendors/CMs for seamless production
• Define DOE and validation strategies to optimize performance
• Lead root cause investigations and resolve quality and reliability issues
• Own CAD models and docs (3D/2D, BOMs, ECOs) to support changes
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
• Travel internationally up to 20% to support manufacturing partners

🎯 Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in design, improvement, and sustaining of complex mechanical products
• 4+ years SolidWorks CAD experience with part design, tolerance analysis
• 3+ years with Tier 1/2 manufacturers; drive changes in Asia and North America
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing: injection molding, die casting, automated assembly
• Strong root cause analysis and implementing design or process improvements
• Hands-on prototyping and validation, plus second sourcing
• Experience leading cross-functional efforts and mentoring junior engineers
