Senior Manager, Engineering, Local Runtime (East Coast)

📋 Description

• Lead 6–10 engineers building Docker's cross-platform runtime.
• Own the technical direction and roadmap.
• Partner with product to align roadmaps with goals.
• Ensure predictable delivery and operational excellence across components.
• Hire and retain top systems engineering talent.
• Facilitate communication across teams and provide status reporting for critical projects.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams.
• 5+ years hands-on systems programming (hypervisors, runtimes).
• 8+ years software engineering in backend/infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of virtualization concepts (VMMs, hypervisors).
• Experience with container runtimes (OCI, containerd, runc).
• Cross-platform systems experience on Windows, macOS, Linux.
