Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Risk Modeling

📋 Description

• Join Block's Risk ML org to apply ML at scale and detect fraud.
• Work on chargeback/fraud prevention; trust & safety for Cash App families.
• Protect the ecosystem and reduce financial loss while enabling safe experiences for millions.
• Lead end-to-end ML work from problem definition to deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Collaborate with ML platform and engineering to ensure real-time, scalable models.
• Team Focus Areas include Fraud & Chargeback Risk; Trust, Safety & Families.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years ML, applied AI, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining ML in production.
• Strong familiarity with tree-based models, deep learning, transfer learning, or RL.
• Experience influencing technical direction and collaborating at scale.
• Strong communication, ownership, and curiosity; experience with Python and ML tools.
