Senior Engineering Manager, Upstart Bank

📋 Description

• Lead one or more engineering teams for Upstart Bank platform.
• Drive execution across bank-critical systems: ledgering, funding, payments, reporting.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, and Ops to translate needs into software.
• Contribute to technical direction and architecture for reliability, security, auditability.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies and improve delivery predictability and quality.
• Build processes for internal controls, audits, change management, and reliable operations.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years engineering experience, incl. 3+ years in engineering management.
• Experience leading teams through cross-functional platform or infra initiatives.
• Strong background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, or critical infrastructure.
• Experience in regulated, high-control environments with strong audits and controls.
