Senior Engineering Manager - Data Platform

📋 Description

• Build and manage engineering teams to guide feature, service, and infra work.
• Coach direct reports to impact the organization and grow their careers.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, PMs, and leaders to map a quarterly roadmap.
• Provide architectural leadership and ensure high-quality code; deliver multi-tenant distributed systems.
• Partner with Talent to recruit engineers aligned with Coinbase's culture.
• Own processes to drive engineering quality and meet SLAs.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years managing critical datastore infra with high throughput and reliability.
• Architecting and scaling databases with partitioning, sharding, caching, and distributed DB.
• Hands-on with relational and NoSQL engines: Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Experience designing scale-out infra and triaging performance issues in distributed systems.
• Lead efforts to improve developer experience and velocity via self-service tools.
• Experience managing infra budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Effective Mandarin communication to tech teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to build and nurture multiple sub-teams with vision and clear priorities.
