Senior Engineering Manager (AI Search mp; Retrieval)

📋 Description

• Lead a high-performing team of engineers on AI Search & Retrieval.
• Shape architecture and long-term evolution of our Search platform.
• Mentor talent, foster psychological safety, and delivery culture.
• Collaborate with Product/Applied Science to drive revenue and impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering; backend infra and distributed systems.
• Deep domain expertise in Search or Information Retrieval (relevance/ ranking).
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, Flink, Solr, Lucene, Elasticsearch.
• 4+ years of cloud operations in AWS, GCP, or other major cloud.
• Strong production languages: Java and/or Python.
• 4+ years leading, hiring, coaching engineers; strategic roadmaps.
• Excellent communication; ability to translate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
