- Own the end-to-end conversational experience for the Brex Assistant (outbound/inbound chat).
- Set technical/product bar for the team; make sequencing decisions for assistant capabilities (memory, data, preferences).
- Write production-grade code; shape architecture/interfaces for agentic workflows with Spend/Expense teams.
- Ensure reliability, correctness, UX in non-deterministic systems; collaborate with infra/security teams.
- Establish team norms for agentic products: over-communication, validation, quality control.
🎯 Requirements
- Proven experience building and owning user-facing software in complex domains.
- Staff/Senior Staff engineer or hands-on Tech Lead; people mgmt a plus.
- Strong product judgment: tradeoffs, commitments, outcomes.
- Experience building reliable systems with messy inputs (users or nondeterministic).
- Ability to own UX/roadmap, build simple, robust software, and mentor engineers.
