Senior DevOps Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead engineer on large/complex client deployment projects
• Lead engineer on product engineering projects to develop our service
• Provide AWS subject matter expertise to pre-sales architects
• Install, configure, and manage OS and AWS services
• Implement and maintain custom client images and config for quick builds and autoscaling
• Maintain high availability through proactive measures
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Update clients and partners on current status
• Raise, investigate and resolve problems per problem management process
• Proactively improve automation and processes via continual improvement Kanban board
• Partake in an on-call rota to provide 24x7 AWS 4th line support
• Proactively keep up to date on AWS services and developments
• Buddy new team members and train other teams
• Act as team leader and technical escalation point in Manager’s absence

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years supporting mission-critical, customer-focused environments
• 3+ years engineering or supporting AWS solutions
• Strong OS knowledge (Linux/Windows) with basic on the other; MCSE/RHCE preferred
• Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, RDS, IAM, Route53, CloudFront, ElastiCache, WAF
• Current AWS Associate and Professional Certifications
• At least one AWS Specialty certification (e.g., Security or Networking)
• Experience building scalable auto-scaled environments with CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl
• Git experience useful
• Containers: ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker
• Jenkins or CI/CD pipelines experience useful
• Good TCP/IP knowledge
• Computing-related degree preferred or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ITIL experience beneficial
• Desire to continually grow, develop and improve
• Self-motivated, self-starter with good working attitude
• Client-focused and results-driven
• Able to implement scalable, maintainable solutions and simplify complexity
• Role model within the team
