BS/MS/PhD in CS, bioinformatics, or related field; 0-4 years data engineering experience.
Background in biology, chemistry, or related fields.
Python with data science libraries and testing frameworks.
AWS experience (S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Lambda, EC2, Batch, ECS, Glue, Athena).
Proven design, deployment, and maintenance of production data pipelines at scale.
Hands-on with orchestration tools (Step Functions, Nextflow, dbt, Dagster) and event-driven architectures.
CI/CD, IaC (CloudFormation or AWS CDK), and Docker/containerization.
Strong technical communication for scientific audiences; cross-discipline collaboration.
Thrives in dynamic environments; prioritizes and makes pragmatic trade-offs.
