Senior Counsel, Commercial Technology

📋 Description

• Lead and support commercial technology matters: structuring, drafting, negotiating agreements.
• Provide mentorship to Cohere's legal team.
• Engage with enterprise clients and vendors on contracting.
• Work with internal stakeholders to resolve legal matters across functions.
• Build legal strategy and processes for contracting, acquisitions and partnerships.
• Oversee contract lifecycle tools, policies and procedures.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in tech contracting (private practice or in-house) with enterprises.
• Experience with cross-border transactions (Canada, US, UK/EU).
• Skilled in MSAs, order forms, SOWs and professional services agreements.
• Familiar with AI regulations and issues.
• Led negotiations on complex commercial arrangements, AI-focused preferred.
• Independent, able to mentor lawyers; comfortable with fast-paced tech startups.
