📋 Description

  • Negotiate and close a variety of commercial agreements and ancillary documents to support customer sales and partner engagements across India and South East Asia.
  • Lead negotiations with Indian customers across all regions, as well as South East Asia customers, including from regulated sectors like BFSI.
  • Deliver practical and decisive legal guidance to internal business teams, balancing risk with business objectives as a trusted advisor.
  • Coach sales team members on negotiation strategies for Indian and SEA customers, including internal trainings and office hours.
  • Improve contract templates, playbooks, and processes in line with emerging laws and regulations in India and SEA.
  • Build relationships with APJ stakeholders across the region, including Deal Desk, People/HR, Procurement, and regional sales leadership.

🎯 Requirements

  • A seasoned qualified attorney (India-qualified strongly preferred) with at least 8 years’ law firm and/or in-house commercial transactional experience with Indian customers (across all Indian regions) and other South East Asian jurisdictions, including familiarity with negotiating SaaS contracts and related technology areas such as privacy, security, intellectual property, and AI.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Conversational Hindi is a strong plus. Proficiency in another South East Asian language is valued.
  • Someone who thrives in negotiating, communicating, educating, and comfortable leading sensitive conversations with both legal and business counterparts.
  • Someone with integrity, excellent judgment, and a high degree of emotional intelligence. You build strong collaboration channels with peers and stakeholders across the business and identify pathways to success with our customers.
  • Comfortable working independently, adhering to established processes, and able to recognise when to seek guidance.
  • Excited to drive contracts to closure and are comfortable partnering with clients in sales, where you will prioritize multiple deals simultaneously while supporting tight deadlines.
