Senior Collections Specialist, Public Sector

📋 Description

• Support government AR and collections to reduce DSO and boost cash.
• Partner with Revenue Accounting, CS, Sales, Deal Desk, and PS to resolve payment blockers.
• Ensure invoices include required docs, POs, billing references, and approvals.
• Identify and resolve blockers like missing POs, encumbrances, or approvals.
• Follow up on renewals, recurring invoices, and milestone billings; escalate as needed.
• Build relationships with government customers and internal teams; review contracts and terms.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in government finance, collections, AR, or billing.
• Experience collecting from public-sector entities (cities, counties, states, federal).
• Knowledge of government payment processes: appropriations, POs, encumbrances, audits.
• Read/interpret contracts, POs, invoices, and billing schedules.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, billing systems, and collections tools.
• Bachelor's degree required; strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing communication.
