Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (OpenStack / Virtualization)

📋 Description

• Lead the re-platforming and build-out of an internal KVM-based virtualization environment on new UCS hardware in the Ashburn data center. Integrate OpenStack and open-source automation tools to support migration of workloads from legacy datacenter, ensuring robust, scalable, and automated infrastructure.
• Tear down and rebuild existing ESX-based UCS blade environment, transitioning to KVM virtualization.
• Design and implement an OpenStack platform for internal use, considering open-source alternatives to OpenShift due to current challenges.
• Integrate SAN and NetApp storage solutions into the new platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Deploy and configure open-source automation tools (e.g., Ansible) for infrastructure management and orchestration.
• Document architecture, configuration, and operational procedures for the new environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux, KVM virtualization, and OpenStack deployment.
• Strong background in UCS hardware, SAN, and NetApp storage integration.
• Proficiency with open-source automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• 8+ years of experience.
