Senior Backend Engineer (Ruby and/or Go), Tenant Scale; Cells Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Design and implement edge traffic routing for Cells.
• Build and evolve the Topology Service as the authoritative cluster state.
• Collaborate with the Rails monolith to make features Cell-aware.
• Operate and improve routing and topology systems; participate in on-call.
• Document ADRs, runbooks, and cross-team guidance.
• Review merge requests to uphold correctness, performance, security.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building observable, resilient production services in Go or Rails.
• Incident response and operational ownership in high-scale environments.
• Reason about distributed systems: consistency, partitions, failures.
• Experience with high-throughput networking; gRPC and Protocol Buffers a plus.
• Familiarity with large multi-team codebases; Cell-aware data models.
• Observability focus: metrics, tracing, alerting; on-call readiness.
• Strong written communication for async, distributed teams; document ADRs and runbooks.
• Production PostgreSQL experience: schema design, migrations, tuning.
