Senior Backend Engineer II - Devices Cloud

📋 Description

• Design and maintain backend services for device connectivity and telemetry ingest.
• Use AI-native workflows for specs, code, tests, and incident triage.
• Define AI-native engineering patterns for the Devices Cloud team.
• Collaborate with firmware/mobile/product teams to define APIs/workflows.
• Build data pipelines for high-throughput telemetry using Kafka/Kinesis.
• Deliver scalable AWS microservices; instrument for observability and on-call readiness.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building backend services in Java, Go, Python, or similar.
• Hands-on experience prompting and evaluating LLMs; building with them.
• Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and MCP/function calling.
• Track record using AI tooling to improve specs, tests, and code quality.
• Strong experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Cloud infra (AWS preferred), container orchestration, and production deployments.
• Databases (relational/NoSQL), caching, and event/streaming systems.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and articulate technical tradeoffs.
