Must Have
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 5+ years backend development in Go with concurrency patterns
- Deep understanding of Go internals: scheduler, GC, runtime
- Strong systems programming foundation; below the application layer
- Deep network knowledge: TCP, TLS/mTLS, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3 (QUIC), WebSocket
- Applied cryptography: encryption, cert chains, key management
- Proven track record designing and scaling distributed, highly available systems
- Kubernetes concepts and deployment patterns
Nice to Have
- Ruby familiarity (on Rails) โ core is Ruby-based; integration points
- Familiarity with AI/LLM serving infra: model proxying, token metering
- Docker, container orchestration, and cloud infra (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Redis-based caching and pub/sub patterns
- Exposure to API gateway or service mesh internals (Envoy, Kong)
- Integration with REST/gRPC APIs at scale (throttling, retries, circuit breaking)
- Contributions to open-source projects
Soft Skills
- Comfortable working in a globally distributed team across timezones
- Strong written and spoken English for design discussions
- Full-cycle product delivery mindset: from problem framing to production
- Open to experimentation; pragmatic about adopting new technologies
