Senior Azure Engineer

📋 Description

• Tier 2/3 escalation for Managed Services incidents (Service Desk/NOC).
• Lead high-severity incidents; coordinate with teams, vendors, cloud providers.
• On-call rotation; after-hours incident response and leadership.
• Lead real-time troubleshooting; analysis, mitigation, recovery, restoration.
• Communicate with customers during incidents; status updates and recovery plans.
• Documentation, handoff, and follow-up after resolution.
• Own Azure-based Managed Services architecture; secure, scalable, resilient.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS.
• Working knowledge of CAF.
• Perform Azure Well Architected Reviews during lifecycle.
• Design and validate Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, networking.
• Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop (host pools, FSLogix, images).
• Define disaster recovery and resiliency strategies for Azure workloads.
• Identify architectural risks and remediation to improve stability.
• Design, implement and govern IaC using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or equivalents.
• Establish and enforce IaC standards, version control, reusable deployment patterns.
• Promote automation-first with PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Provide technical guidance to AST engineers on architecture/IaC standards.

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years IT infrastructure and cloud experience with Azure.
• Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring expertise.
• Azure Administrator certification AZ-104 or current equivalent.
• Tier 3 escalation experience in a Managed Services environment.
• Lead incident response with real-time troubleshooting and customer updates.
• Experience designing/supporting Azure Virtual Desktop with FSLogix.
• Experience designing disaster recovery and resiliency for Azure workloads.
• Advanced IaC experience using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Experience with ITSM processes/tools such as ServiceNow.
• Bachelor's degree in IT is desired.
• Experience with MSPs.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments.
• Experience using Nerdio Manager for Enterprise.
• Familiarity with Entra ID, Conditional Access, and identity governance.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM training.
• AZ-305 or current AZ Solutions Architect certification.
• Azure networking/security/identity specialty certifications.
• Commitment to maintaining current Azure certifications.
