Product Owner

SafeLease is an insurance technology company that specializes in commercial real estate.

We focus on insurance products for the self-storage industry but are rapidly expanding our suite of services. We believe traditional commercial insurance can be distributed faster and cheaper. To do that, we’ve brought the entire insurance value chain—distribution, underwriting, and reinsurance—under one roof to drive innovation in an industry that’s ripe for change.

Our technical team is growing! As we expand, we’re looking for a Product Owner to ensure our critical product lines are running effectively and elegantly.

About The Role

To drive our mission forward, this role will:

• Make sense of signals. Translate data, research, and feedback into clear user stories, prioritized backlog items, and actionable product requirements.

• Drive clarity and focus. Collaborate cross-functionally to refine acceptance criteria, align sprint priorities, and ensure the team delivers against business goals.

• Roll up your sleeves. Whether it’s grooming the backlog, shaping an MVP, or testing a release, you’ll be hands-on from idea through delivery.

• Represent the product. Be the go-to voice for what’s in scope, why it matters, and how it connects to the customer and company vision.

About You

• 3+ years in Product Ownership, ideally in a fast-moving, startup or growth-stage environment.

• You thrive on solving real problems for real people—and translate insights into user stories, priorities, and tangible product outcomes.

• You know how to build from zero-to-one and scale existing products.

• You’re confident navigating ambiguity and turning it into action.

• You understand what makes a great user experience, and can balance technical tradeoffs with delivering simple, intuitive solutions.

• You bring strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.

• You take ownership of the backlog, move with urgency, and maintain a bias toward delivering results.
