Job Summary:
Ruggable is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant with strong critical thinking skills and a proactive, independent approach to problem-solving. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager, will perform daily accounting operations and analyses, and actively contribute to the month-end close. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with high-growth e-commerce companies and national big box retailers, and have a deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition, particularly within consumer products and retail industries.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee proper e-commerce revenue recognition by maintaining reconciliations of unearned revenue, A/R, and merchant processor accounts.
- Support the end-to-end e-commerce merchantprocessor payment workstream across 30+ storefronts and merchants, includingweekly ERP data reconciliation and end of month account reconciliations.
- Prepare invoices and revenue recognition for Wholesale customers and maintain AR reconciliation schedules for accurate and complete end of month reporting.
- Support the Finance and Wholesale teams with Wholesale revenue analysis, credit memo creation, and other related operational projects
- Oversee the royalty reporting process, calculate monthly licensor royalty expense, and prepare monthly accrued royalties reconciliation. Prepare quarterly royalty statements for licensing partners and collaborate with Ruggable’s licensing team to ensure accurate and complete royalties.
- Maintain and reconcile various accounts as part of the month end close, including fixed assets and advanced payments
- Maintain accurate and complete reconciliation schedules and strong audit documentation
- Provide support for year end audits (global and statutory)
- Support monthly financial reporting by providing variance analysis and preparing supplementary schedules
- Assist team with ad-hoc Accounting projects and assignments, such as performing financial analysis in accordance with US GAAP and ASC standards.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly in areas such as ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Experience working with Wholesale customers that are major national retailers
- 2-5 years of Accounting experience - Public accounting and/or CPA candidates a plus
- Advanced with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and keyboard shortcuts, and ability to work with large data sets
- Technologically savvy with strong ability to utilize technology, AI, and data analytics tools to quickly perform data and financial analysis for finance leaders
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
Preferred:
- Public accounting experience or industry experience with a high growth CPG company
- CPA licensed or candidate
- Experience with major ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Netsuite preferred, in multi-entity and multi-currency environments
Compensation:
- $90,000-$105,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
