At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

RES is looking for a Field Operations Manager to join our team.

As a Field Operations Manager at RES, you will oversee the day-to-day execution of ecological restoration and infrastructure projects, coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and schedule alignment. Your work will directly support the restoration of wetlands, streams, forests, and native landscapes across the region.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, brings experience managing construction crews, and understands the technical, regulatory, and logistical aspects of land and water resource projects. See what our Field and Operations manager do here.

Why You’ll Love This Job

  • You’ll lead projects that restore ecosystems. From native plantings to streambank stabilization, the work you manage has a measurable environmental impact.

  • You’ll be in the field—and in charge. You’ll supervise subcontractors, coordinate logistics, and work closely with project managers to deliver results.

  • You’ll grow your leadership and technical skills. You’ll gain exposure to estimating, contract execution, restoration design feedback, and team mentoring.

A Day in the Life

You’ll begin your day with a jobsite safety briefing, coordinate with subcontractors on equipment or material delivery, and walk the site to assess progress. You’ll supervise crew activities, troubleshoot issues, and make field-level decisions to keep projects on track.

Throughout the week, you’ll review construction plans, provide feedback on site feasibility or design adjustments, and communicate regularly with project managers and other RES departments. You’ll help execute contracts, ensure adherence to environmental permits, and provide practical insight during both planning and implementation phases.

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in field operations, civil construction, water resource infrastructure, or land management

  • Experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and field employees

  • Experience supporting or executing contract terms and negotiating with vendors or service providers

  • Ability to interpret and provide feedback on construction drawings during the design phase

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain a CDL if needed

What would make you stand out?

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, ecological restoration, natural resources, agriculture, or a related field

  • Experience with construction estimating tools such as Heavy Bid or Bid to Win, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn similar software

  • Prior experience in restoration-related construction or environmental field operations

You will thrive in this position if you:

  • Enjoy leading field teams and managing complex, fast-moving projects

  • Can clearly communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset and a calm, solutions-oriented attitude

  • Take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and hold yourself accountable
