Release Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain build/release workflows; manage dependencies/tools.
• Build CI/CD workflows, packaging, and install scripts for Thunderbird on all platforms.
• Adapt Firefox build-script changes to Thunderbird.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex build/test/dependency issues with developers.
• Participate in process improvements; evaluate solutions; support ad hoc projects.
• Engage with the open-source community for feedback and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years build/release engineering for Linux, Windows, macOS, Android, iOS.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, Kotlin, and Java; toolchains knowledge.
• Strong Python and shell scripting for automation, VCS, CI/CD.
• Experience building/releasing native desktop/mobile apps; debug issues.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Mercurial/Git, and AWS or GCP.
• Strong ownership; manage multiple tasks; works independently or in a team.
• Excellent English communication for distributed teams.
• Commitment to open-source development and timely delivery.
