Regulatory Safety Engineer

📋 Description

• Understand NA/EU electrical safety standards for EV charging and related UL/IEC standards.
• Create test plans to validate safety designs for first-pass 3rd-party certification.
• Perform safety tests and support prototype debugging and witness testing.
• Obtain safety certifications by working with labs such as UL.
• Support manufacturing with production testing, labeling, and records for safety certifications.
• Provide technical support to set up lab equipment and test racks.

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS in Physics or Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering; other related degrees considered.
• 2-4 years in electrical/technical fields; EV charging regulatory engineering preferred but not required.
• Thorough understanding of applying safety standards to product design.
• Ability to evaluate creepage/clearance for board design and review.
• Understanding pollution degrees and overvoltage categories.
• Willingness to travel periodically.
