Regulatory Counsel

📋 Description

• Embed with cross-functional teams to build, launch, market, and operate regulated fintech products
• Analyze regulatory and licensing implications; partner on license applications
• Interface with regulators on approvals, RFIs, licenses, and examinations
• Structure and negotiate partnerships with financial institutions, PSPs, and tech platforms
• Support marketing; develop content policies; review marketing collateral
• Provide guidance on regulatory, privacy, IP, and other issues affecting product development and marketing
• Draft policies and procedures for regulated financial products
• Help select and manage outside counsel

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. with strong academic background and integrity
• Bar membership in at least one state (NY/CA preferred); in-house registration if not licensed in base state
• 3–5 years of legal experience
• Experience as product/regulatory counsel for fintech/tech or top law firm preferred
• Willingness to learn quickly, collaborate, own work, act as a generalist
• Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into guidance
• Thrives in fast-paced environments; manage multiple cross-functional projects
