Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Bidding and Pacing (Advertiser Optimization)

Job Description

Reddit is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for Bidding and Pacing (Advertiser Optimization) to design, implement, and operate ML models that optimize bidding and pacing strategies for Reddit's Ads platform. This is a full-time, individual contributor role within the Ads Engineering organization.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models that optimize bidding and pacing for advertiser campaigns across Reddit's Ads ecosystem.
• Build scalable ML pipelines, ensure production readiness, monitoring, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and analytics to drive advertiser ROI.
• Experiment with new algorithms and features; lead end-to-end experimentation from hypothesis to rollout.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical direction of Ads ML.

What we look for

• Strong experience in machine learning with production systems; preference for large-scale advertising platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and SQL.
• Experience with large-scale data processing (Spark, BigQuery) is a plus.
• BS/MS/PhD in CS, ML, Statistics, or related fields; excellent collaboration and communication skills.
