Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Ranking

Overview

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer for Ads Ranking. This is a full-time remote role focused on building and deploying machine learning models to optimize the ranking of advertisements on Reddit.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and productionize ML models to improve ads ranking quality and relevance.
• Collaborate with Ads Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams to define metrics and drive impact.
• Run controlled experiments (e.g., A/B tests), monitor model performance, and iterate on improvements.
• Develop scalable ML infrastructure and data pipelines to support large-scale ad ranking systems.
• Mentor and guide more junior ML engineers as needed and contribute to technical roadmap.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in machine learning engineering with a focus on ranking or recommender systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and practical experience with ML frameworks and tooling.
• Experience building and deploying production ML models at scale, including metrics, monitoring, and experimentation.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate complex topics clearly.
• Proven track record of shipping impactful ML solutions in a fast-paced environment.
