Machine Learning Manager - Ads Engagement Modeling
Reddit is seeking a data-driven Machine Learning Manager to lead the Ads Engagement Modeling team. This remote-friendly, full-time role will own the development and deployment of machine learning models that optimize ad engagement and relevance across Reddit’s advertising ecosystem.
What you’ll do
- Define and own the ML roadmap for Ads Engagement, align with product and business goals, and deliver measurable impact.
- Lead and mentor a team of ML engineers and data scientists; hire, coach, and grow top ML talent.
- Design, build, and productionize scalable models for ad targeting, ranking, and engagement optimization.
- Partner with product, data engineering, analytics, and ads operations to ship end-to-end ML solutions and monitor their performance.
- Foster a culture of experimentation with robust evaluation metrics and A/B testing frameworks.
What we are looking for
- 7+ years of hands-on machine learning experience with prior people management responsibilities.
- Strong background in ML for advertising, user engagement modeling, or recommender systems.
- Experience deploying ML models in production at scale, with data pipelines and feature stores.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain ML talent and build high-performing teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, Spark/Databricks, or similar technologies.
- Advanced degree in ML, CS, or related field (PhD preferred but not required).
