Senior Data Services Platform Engineer to join our Professional Services Team, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing our cloud data services platform. Responsibilities Design, build, and manage enterprise data services platforms and infrastructure, preferably Portworx Data Services (PDS)Monitor platform health, performance metrics, and capacity planning across multiple data technologiesImplement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategiesTroubleshoot complex platform issues and coordinate resolution effortsEnsure high uptime and meet established SLA requirements for data servicesProvision and manage various data services including databases, caching layers, and message queuesImplement data security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirementsOptimize data service performance, storage utilization, and resource allocationManage data service lifecycle including upgrades, patches, and migrationsSupport multiple data technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, etc.)Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or HelmDevelop automation scripts (e.g. Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell, etc.) for routine operations, deployments, and maintenance tasksIntegrate data services platform with CI/CD pipelines and development workflowsImplement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similarManage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration for data workloadsProvide technical guidance and best practices for data service usage to cloud tenants/usersParticipate in on-call rotation for critical platform supportDocument processes, procedures, and architectural decisionsCollaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or data infrastructure administration3+ years of experience with container-native storage solutions (Portworx preferred)Experience managing production data services environments at scaleSolid experience with Linux-based Operating Systems (e.g. Debian/Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.) and Windows Server administrationProven track record of implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutionsExperience with agile development methodologies and collaborative team environmentsStrong expertise in Kubernetes administration and container orchestrationProficiency with data service administration across multiple technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, etc.)Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security principles in containerized environmentsProficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automationExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm)Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools Additional Skills (Good to have) Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar certificationsExperience with Portworx or other container-native storage platformsExperience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)Knowledge of data service performance tuning and optimization techniquesExperience with data pipeline tools and ETL processesFamiliarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA)Experience with GitOps workflows and tools like ArgoCD or Flux
