We are seeking an experienced

Data Services Administrator to join our Professional Services Team, focusing on managing and maintaining our cloud data services platform. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-performance data services across private cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in database management and data services at scale, with the ability to work across multiple data technologies and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain enterprise data services platforms and infrastructure, preferably Portworx Data Services (PDS)
  • Support multiple data technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Monitor platform health, performance metrics, and capacity planning across multiple data technologies
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and coordinate resolution efforts
  • Ensure high uptime and meet established SLA requirements for data services
  • Provision and manage various data services including databases, caching layers, and message queues
  • Implement data security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirements
  • Optimize data service performance, storage utilization, and resource allocation
  • Manage data service lifecycle including upgrades, patches, and migrations
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical platform support
  • Document processes, procedures, and architectural decisions
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data infrastructure and database administration
  • Experience managing production data services environments at scale
  • Good experience with Linux operating systems (preferably Ubuntu/Debian) and Windows Server administration
  • Good knowledge in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration
  • Proficiency with data service administration across multiple technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
  • Good understanding of networking, storage, and security principles in containerized environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
  • Additional Skills (Good to have)

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
  • Experience with Portworx or other container-native storage platforms
  • Knowledge of data service performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Experience with GitOps workflows and tools like ArgoCD or Flux
