Process Engineer JD

We are looking for a Process engineer to join our multidisciplinary team developing a next-generation sensor. In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of the sensor’s design and development and translate it into a robust, scalable manufacturing process. You will work closely with our R&D teams and with external vendors to ensure seamless execution from prototype to high-volume production.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, define, and optimize manufacturing processes for a complex, multidisciplinary sensor.
  • Lead electro-optics module manufacturing, characterization, and testing activities to mature the module into a mass-production-ready device.
  • Manage assembly line integration, including station design, tool setup, workflows, and quality checkpoints.
  • Lead manufacturing scalability efforts, process optimization, and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Own the manufacturing flow definition and ensure smooth NPI execution from engineering builds to high-volume production.
  • Operate testing equipment and build test fixtures for validation during development and NPI phases.
  • Conduct lab experiments, document results, characterize sensor performance, and provide actionable feedback to R&D.
  • Support research and engineering teams by gathering performance data, running experiments, and troubleshooting issues with the vendor.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation for manufacturing, test procedures, and process control.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering, NPI, Process Engineering, or a related hands-on engineering role.
  • Background in electro-optics or multidisciplinary products – mandatory.
  • Proven experience working closely with vendors/manufacturers and driving a design into production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing flows, process optimization, and cost-efficient scaling.
  • Experience working in a lab environment: building setups, running experiments, operating test equipment – strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with test fixtures, DVT/PVT testing, or NPI validation – advantage.
  • Excellent documentation skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanics, electronics, optics, software).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset.
