Product Engineer (Backend)

📋 Description

• Deeply understand customer needs and design systems to solve them
• Build, scale, and evolve data models, services, and APIs
• Design and ship new backend APIs and features for internal and customer-facing products
• Maintain and improve our Python-based microservice stack
• Support and lead new product development, balancing velocity with quality
• Improve technical quality and pay down tech debt while delivering new work
• Create and improve tooling, processes, and engineering standards across the team
• Mentor engineers and help the team grow

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and maintaining backend or full-stack apps; data modeling, logic, and API design
• Experience at an early-stage startup or small tech company
• Deep expertise with modern back end languages/frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Rails, Gin)
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Experience on API based products is a plus
• Played key roles in projects with multiple teams and engineers
• Desire to learn new systems and technologies as the business evolves
• Ability to design scalable, reliable, high performance and maintainable systems
• Passion for working closely with customers
• Creativity, empathy, and a drive for continuous improvement
