Product Counsel, Claude Platform

📋 Description

• Partner with Platform PM, API Engineering, Cloud Partnerships, and Commercial Legal for API and cloud lifecycle guidance
• Develop expertise in legal frameworks for developer platforms and cloud distribution
• Draft and negotiate API ToS, acceptable-use policies, developer agreements, cloud terms, and enterprise order-form exhibits
• Advise on API product features, tiered-access programs (TAP/ZDR), KYC/IDV requirements, and enterprise-readiness initiatives
• Support incident response and escalations for API misuse and cloud-partner compliance issues

🎯 Requirements

• JD from accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• 8+ years in API/platform, cloud-marketplace, or tech-transactions, in-house or at a tech-focused firm
• Working knowledge of data-processing agreements, API terms, cloud licensing, and AI governance frameworks
• Strong technical fluency across cloud computing, APIs, and software development; ability to grasp AI/ML infrastructure
• Proactive doer mindset with the ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute with minimal supervision
• Experience using AI tools to scale your legal practice or strong interest to learn
