Principal Database Architect (DBaaS)

📋 Description

• Own end-to-end DBaaS architecture: multitenancy, HA, DR, backups
• Define standards for databases: provisioning, lifecycle, monitoring, security
• Integrate DBaaS into cloud infra: identity, networking, self-service
• Align roadmap with product vision, SLAs/SLOs, and customer needs
• Escalation point for DBaaS issues in development, staging, production
• Onboard and support early customers: deployments, performance tuning, troubleshooting

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level DB engineering experience with ownership of production DBs
• Deep expertise with PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB: replication, backups, tuning
• Strong cloud infra knowledge: compute, networking, storage, security
• Experience integrating DBaaS with cloud control planes, APIs, automation
• Reliability engineering for data services: monitoring, SLOs, incident mgmt
• IaC/automation with Terraform or Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
