Principal CFD Modeling Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead development and refinement of high-fidelity CFD models using FDS for fire dynamics.
• Partner with experimental testing teams to design tests and collect validation data.
• Analyze experimental results and feed into model validation/improvement frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in CFD modeling and fire science.
• Present technical work to clients, industry groups, and at conferences.
• Author and review technical reports, proposals, and peer-reviewed publications.

🎯 Requirements

• Graduate degree in engineering focusing on thermal-fluid sciences.
• 15+ years CFD with FDS for fire dynamics, heat transfer.
• Post-grad research may count for up to five years.
• Deep knowledge of FDS Validation Guide, Technical Reference Guide, User Guide.
• Advanced understanding of radiation transport, gas-phase absorption, pyrolysis in FDS.
• Proficiency in Python and Fortran or similar languages.
