Precision Medicine Group are hiring a Legal Counsel, Employment (EMEA and APAC) to join our team, candidates can work remotely in the UK, Poland, Hungary, Romania or Serbia.

Position Summary:

The Legal Counsel, Employment will provide strategic and proactive legal support on employment law matters across the UK, EU, and APAC regions. This internationally focused role partners closely with HR, business leaders, and the global legal team to deliver practical advice, manage risk, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. The successful candidate will support cross-border coordination, policy development, dispute resolution, and contribute to a positive employee experience across diverse jurisdictions and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions in Europe and APAC.
  • Advise HR and business leaders on a broad range of employment law issues, including recruitment, terminations, disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, workplace investigations, and redundancies.
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and apply new laws and trends – including pay transparency, workplace equality, remote work, right to digital disconnect, working time and overtime frameworks, leave entitlements, antidiscrimination, and health and safety – by updating policies, advising stakeholders, and ensuring timely implementation across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Review HR vendor agreements (e.g., employer of record, payroll providers, recruitment agencies, relocation/mobility vendors, etc.), and support vendor engagement.
  • Support HR in managing employee terminations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and escalations.
  • Advise on and oversee internal investigations led by HR related to workplace conduct, discrimination, and other employment issues.
  • Provide guidance on works council engagement, collective bargaining obligations, and union-related matters, and support works council day-to-day management, guiding the company to make appropriate decisions ensuring long-lasting and trust-based collaboration with staff representatives.
  • Partner with privacy counsel to advise on workplace privacy and personal data processing related to employment, workforce management, and remote work framework.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreement, including offer letters and employment agreements, settlement agreements, consultancy contracts, and secondment agreements.
  • Advise on employment aspects of transactions, employee transfers, reorganizations, and workforce restructuring.
  • Collaborate with HR to design and update global and regional employment policies to ensure compliance with local labor laws and international standards.
  • Deliver training and guidance to HR, management, and business leaders on employment law topics and best practices.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with EU and APAC management to promote proactive engagement of in-house legal counsel.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of employment law advice, projects, and risk assessments.
  • Perform special assignments or projects assigned by the SVP and Deputy General Counsel or General Counsel.

Qualifications:

  • Law degree and admission to practice in a European or APAC jurisdiction.
  • Ideally have 5+ years of experience in employment law, preferably in a multinational corporate environment or reputable law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in the UK and EU, including works council processes, collective bargaining, and labor relations; experience with APAC jurisdictions is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employment matters and cross-border projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Fluent in English; additional European or APAC languages are a plus.
