Overview

Postscript is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Data Platform to design and scale our data platform that powers analytics and product features. You will own data ingestion, storage, and core APIs to enable reliable, scalable data access across teams.

Responsibilities

Build and scale backend services for the data platform
Design data ingestion pipelines, storage schemas, and APIs (REST and/or gRPC)
Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and product teams
Monitor reliability, performance, security, and cost
Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews
Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices

Requirements

5+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java
Experience building data platforms, data pipelines, ETL processes
Proficient with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
Cloud experience (AWS or similar)
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Familiarity with microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and event-driven design
Strong communication and collaboration skills
