Policy Manager, Chemical Weapons and High Yield Explosives

📋 Description

• Design and implement evaluation methods for AI models related to chemical weapons and energetic materials
• Develop and execute strategies to identify and mitigate C/E misuse in model outputs
• Create C/E threat models, including precursor ID, synthesis routes, and weaponization
• Review traffic to identify policy violations related to C/E content
• Collaborate with software engineers to build detection systems and enforcement tools
• Conduct rapid response to escalations involving dangerous C/E queries

🎯 Requirements

• Have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering focusing on energetic materials or chemical weapons
• 5-8+ years in chemical weapons or explosives defense with expertise in energetic materials
• Knowledge of high-yield explosives for radiological dispersal devices (dirty bombs)
• Track record translating technical knowledge into actionable safety policies
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving novel safety challenges
• Able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
