Policy Communications Manager

📋 Description

• Develop and execute AI security, governance, and responsible scaling comms
• Highlight governance incl. LTBT and public benefit status for oversight
• Partner with security, product, legal, governance, and RSP leaders on sensitive matters
• Proactively address regulatory frameworks and transparency obligations
• Manage reactive media on security and governance topics
• Build relationships with journalists covering security, governance, and policy
• Prepare executives for media appearances and leadership opportunities
• Write blog posts, statements, talking points, and materials clearly and accurately
• Support reactive communications with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in policy communications, including managing communications around complex security or governance topics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, distill complex topics for broad audiences
• Experience in issues management and developing reactive communications under pressure
• Strong executive management skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
• A track record of building media relationships
• A results-oriented, high-agency working style, with a bias toward flexibility and impact
• Comfort operating in new terrain where tech evolves quickly and no clear approach exists
• A deep commitment to ensuring that transformative AI systems are developed safely
