Role & responsibilities

We’re hiring a Founder Associate to work directly with Birk (Founder) on the highest-leverage opportunities across product, operations, growth, team building and fundraising. To more mundane efforts that simply need to get done such as submitting receipts/invoices.

This is a unique role where no two weeks look the same. One week you might help scope a product launch, the next you could be preparing investor materials, researching a new opportunity, running a customer project, sourcing candidates, submitting invoices/receipts, shipping merchandise world-wide or coordinating a team offsite. Big or small. Strategic or mundane. You thrive in getting stuff done across the board.

• Work directly with Birk and future Head of Finance/Operations on strategic priorities, special projects to general admin and everything in-between

• Support product launches: user research, coordination, copy, follow-ups

• Help drive operational excellence across finance, HR, legal, and business ops

• Assist with investor relations: building decks, models, and investor updates

• Analyze data and create reports to inform product and growth decisions

• Coordinate with partners, customers, and community members on initiatives and events

• Jump into whatever is most urgent, impactful or plain needed to get done – wearing many hats to plug gaps as the company scales

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of experience in startups, consulting, VC, operations, or product

• Exceptional generalist. Quick learner who thrives in ambiguity and adapts fast

• Zero ego. You enjoy working in an environment with high variety of tasks and going from strategic topics to "mundane chores".

• Excellent communicator. Clear, concise, and comfortable with executives, investors, and developers alike.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented and resourceful. Able to manage multiple priorities and drive them to completion.

• Analytical. Able to dive into data, models, and reports to surface insights.

• Entrepreneurial. You want to start your own startup one day and see this as a great way to work across all domains within one to grow.

How we hire

Our process is fully remote, and all communication happens via email, GitHub issues/PRs and/or video calls:

1. Application Review → Short intro call with Birk (Founder)

2. Assignment → Open source PR (Engineering) or case study

3. Review & interviews (2-3 video calls) to:

   • Meet future team

   • Review and discuss the assignment & feedback + technical questions

   • Meet Birk (Founder)

4. Reference Calls
