Pivotal is bringing the next generation of personal aviation to life with its production-ready eVTOL aircraft. As we enter commercial operations, we are seeking an experienced MRO Manager to lead our maintenance and repair efforts for both internal and customer aircraft. This role will be critical in establishing and scaling our MRO function to meet FAA-certified standards and global operational demands.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of airworthy aircraft and assets to internal and external customers, with all maintenance actions completed or appropriately deferred.
  • Develop and implement MRO processes and tools to manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for Pivotal's operational and customer fleets.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, drive technical solutions, and release work packages that meet regulatory and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure fleet readiness and support for flight operations, demos, and delivery missions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with FAA regulations, company quality management systems, and industry best practices, including FAR Part 43 and other applicable standards.
  • Establish procedures to support a certified Maintenance and Repair Operation (MRO) under FAA Part 145.
  • Lead and mentor internal and contracted maintenance teams, including developing and delivering training to ensure safety, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and audit detailed maintenance records with a focus on data accuracy, automation, and regulatory traceability.
  • Leverage analytics and fleet data to drive improvements in cost efficiency, turnaround time, aircraft uptime, and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance, including leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or executing maintenance programs aligned with FAR Part 43.
  • Experience interfacing with FAA-certified operations or managing compliance in a Part 145 Repair Station.
  • Strong understanding of aviation MRO operations and the processes needed to scale and sustain a production fleet.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clear documentation and interface effectively with internal teams and customers.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Prior experience working as a licensed mechanic at an FAA-certified Repair Station or Fixed Base Operator (FBO).
  • Previous experience managing maintenance records and MRO compliance for an eVTOL or experimental aircraft fleet.
  • Customer-facing experience in technical service or field support.
  • Familiarity with digital MRO platforms, automated maintenance tracking systems, and predictive maintenance analytics.
  • Attribute aligned with Core Values

  • Demonstrates a proactive safety mindset by embedding safety into daily operations, identifying and mitigating risks through assessments and training, encouraging open dialogue on safety concerns, and continuously improving protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Puts customers at the center of every action by deeply understanding their challenges, delivering exceptional value, and striving to exceed expectations to support their success as our core purpose.
  • Actively seeks and values diverse stakeholder perspectives, builds cross-functional relationships, and fosters trust through empathetic, fact-based communication—committing to shared decisions for the greater good.
  • Drives results with clarity and purpose by focusing on what matters most, adapting to change, taking initiative, and owning outcomes while aligning actions with a clear understanding of success at every level.
  • Navigates ambiguity with resilience and bold thinking, challenges the status quo, and combines innovative ideas with practical best practices to overcome obstacles and drive progress.
  • Fosters a high-performance culture grounded in respect, professionalism, and support—balancing high expectations with a healthy, collaborative environment and being a trusted, dependable teammate.
