NPPG has partnered exclusively with People*Strata on the search for a DB & DC Plan Administrator.  Candidates will receive white glove service throughout the selection process.

NPPG (https://www.nppg.com/) is an independent third-party administrator (TPA) that offers employee benefits, retirement planning, actuarial consulting, and fiduciary services. We provide clients with customized and comprehensive solutions for medical, dental, and disability insurance as well as 401(k), pension/actuarial and fiduciary services.  NPPG operates as a trusted partner to ~8,000 clients nationally.

We are currently looking for a full-time Retirement Plan Document Compliance Specialist

to work remotely (eastern or central time zone hours) from anywhere in the US or on-site in our Shrewsbury, NJ headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult with Plan Sponsors (clients) and Advisors (clients’ financial advisors) regarding retirement plan design and provisions
  • Draft defined benefit and defined contribution plan documents, restatements, and amendments
  • Assist clients with retirement plan documents, amendments, and necessary participant communications and, if applicable, with gathering prior plan documents and amendments
  • Support the Plan Consultants in resolving operational and compliance issues related to qualified plans.
  • Prepare and maintain all plan documents for new retirement plans and conversions, including plan amendments, restatements, and summary plan descriptions (SPDs)
  • Prepare short amendments
  • Prepare and maintain all annual notices
  • Manage and prepare plan document restatements from start to finish
  • Assist IRS and DOL auditors with respect to all plan document requests
  • Apply IRS and DOL legislation and regulations, such as ERISA, when preparing, analyzing and interpreting information
  • Meet deadlines with a high attention to detail and focus on compliance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of defined benefit (DB) and/or defined contribution (DC) retirement plan administration experience with a TPA (third party administrator) to include:
    • compliance testing
    • nondiscrimination testing
    • plan valuation
    • contribution calculations
  • Experience with retirement plan design
  • Experience ensuring retirement plan compliance with ERISA
  • Knowledge of IRS and DOL laws and regulations that govern health and welfare plans
  • Experience properly interpreting retirement plan documents and related plan materials to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Experience with Relius, FT Williams, Datair. or a similar retirement tool
  • Ability to work eastern or central time zone hours
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet in connection with business operations, including related ERISA compliance matters
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic
  • Strong sense of business ethics and integrity
  • Experience collaborating with internal colleagues and providing consultation to external clients
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding work performed and access to information/data
  • A service-oriented mindset
  • Experience delivering prompt and precise follow up
  • Professionalism and a positive attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with MEPs (muti-employer plans)
  • Experience with Relius document software
  • Bachelor’s degree
